Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the Church (Book of Common Prayer, p. 298). At St. Mark’s, we welcome people into the community of faith in this sacrament of inclusion. Baptisms are meant to happen in community; the days for Holy Baptism are outlined in the Book of Common Prayer and offers us the opportunity to both celebrate those being baptized and to renew our own baptismal covenant.
Baptism preparation for parents and godparents will be the preceding day at 9.30am. In 2017, baptisms will be done on the following dates:
January 7, Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord (Meeting January 6 at 9.30am)
April 1, Easter Day (Meeting March 31 at 9.30am)
April 29, Feast of St. Mark’s (Meeting April 28 at 9.30am)
May 20, Pentecost (Meeting May 19 at 9.30am)
August 26, Homecoming (Meeting August 25 at 9.30am)
November 4, All Saint’s Sunday (Meeting November 3 at 9.30am)
