“…Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16
At St. Mark’s, we value our youngest members and are deeply committed to the spiritual development of our children and families.
Through weekly programming, as well as special events and activities throughout the year, we strive to provide a loving, safe environment in which children can grow in faith and in their relationships with others. Our Children and Family Ministries serve children from birth to 5th grade.
- Sundays 8.30am -12.30pm
- Located in the Parish House on the 1st floor
- Age 6 weeks - 5 yrs old
Children of all ages are always welcome in our worship services. They are a vital part of our St. Mark’s family, and it’s wonderful to hear their voices while we worship. However, the Nursery is provided for parents who would like to leave their child in a loving, nurturing, and safe environment while they participate in Christian Formation and/or the worship services. The nursery is staffed by highly qualified caregivers who provide playtime, activities, and a place to rest for the littlest parishioners at St. Mark’s.
- Gathers just before the 9.00am service
- Located in the Parish House on the 2nd floor
- Recommended for children age 3 years old through 5th grade
Children’s Chapel at St. Mark’s is a chance for the children to attend their own liturgy during the first part of the 9.00am service. We will begin each Sunday with Miss Abby in Jerusalem Chapel. Here we will pray, sing, and learn about the current week’s Gospel lesson. Then, we will head over to our activity tables for a craft that will reinforce our lesson. After our time in Children’s Chapel has come to an end, the children will be led to the Sanctuary and back to their parents during the Peace, where they can either find their parents in the pew or parents of small children can meet us in the back. We hope you will make Children’s Chapel a regular part of your Sunday morning routine!
- Sundays 10.10am-11.00am, will resume September 17, 2017.
- Located in the Parish House in classrooms on the 2nd floor
- Available for children 3 years old through 5th grade
Children’s Sunday School at St. Mark’s will continue to use the Spark curriculum for the upcoming 2017-2018 year. This creative and engaging curriculum provides opportunities for the children to interact with God, with the scriptures, and with each other through games, activities, questions, and conversations. The children will bring home a Learner Leaflet each Sunday with activities and readings for families to do together during the week.
