Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the Church (Book of Common Prayer, p. 298). At St. Mark’s, we welcome people into the community of faith in this sacrament of inclusion. Baptisms are meant to happen in community; the days for Holy Baptism are outlined in the Book of Common Prayer and offers us the opportunity to both celebrate those being baptized and to renew our own baptismal covenant.
Baptism preparation for parents and godparents will be the preceding day at 9.30am. Baptisms will be done on the following dates:
January 6, Epiphany (Meeting January 5 at 9.00am)
April 21 Easter Day at the Easter Vigil Service (Meeting April 20 at 9.00am)
April 28 Feast of St. Mark (Meeting April 27 at 9.00am)
June 9 Pentecost (Meeting June 8 at 9.00am)
August 18 Homecoming Sunday (Meeting August 17 at 9.00am)
November 3 Feast of All Saints' (Meeting November 2 at 9.00am)
January 12 Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord (Meeting January 11 at 9.00am)
April 12 Easter Day at the Easter Vigil Service (Meeting April 11 at 9.00am)
April 26 Feast of St. Mark (Meeting April 25 at 9.00am)
May 31 Pentecost (Meeting May 30 at 9.00am)
