The St. Cecilia Series Presents: An Evening of Bach and Vivaldi Sonatas

The St. Cecilia Series will offer concerts on the website, Facebook, and YouTube on the second Sunday of each month. The St. Cecilia Series presents an evening of Bach and Vivaldi sonatas performed by our own Samuel Gaskin, harpsichord, and members of the Olmos Ensemble and San Antonio Symphony, Paul Lueders, oboe, and Mark Teplitsky, flute. The program includes Vivaldi’s Oboe Sonata in C Major, RV 52, J.S Bach’s Flute Sonata in C Major BWV 1033 and Trio Sonata for Oboe, Flute, and Continuo BWV 1039.
Oboist Paul Lueders is currently Principal Oboe in the San Antonio Symphony and a member of the Olmos Ensemble. A native of Boston, MA, he attended the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied with Boston Symphony Principal Oboist John Ferrillo and Los Angeles Philharmonic Second Oboist Anne Marie Gabriele. Paul has made Principal Oboe appearances with orchestras across the country including the symphonies of San Francisco, Seattle, Minnesota, Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh.
Flutist Mark Teplitsky is currently Principal Flute in the San Antonio Symphony and Artistic Director of the Olmos Ensemble. Born in Jerusalem, Israel to Soviet refugees, Mark moved to America at age ten where he began his music studies. A graduate of the Colburn Conservatory and Rice University, Mark has appeared in concert with the New York Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, San Diego Symphony, and South Dakota Symphony.
