About
Luke Merritt is from Port Aransas, Texas, and grew up attending Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church there. Growing up on the beach, many of his hobbies centered around nature: surfing, spearfishing, hunting, hiking and free diving. He started attending Camp Capers at a young age and fell in love with the place and the connection to God that he found there. He spent two summers as a counselor, set on giving kids the same camp experience he had and helping them find that same connection with Christ.
Currently, Luke is a member of the Honors College at UTSA, where he is a rising senior studying mechanical engineering in hopes of working in the privatized space flight industry. He is chapter president of Phi Delta Theta, a fraternity whose philanthropy is dedicated to assisting families affected by ALS and raising money for research. He is excited to work at St. Mark's and wants to help students form a strong foundation for their faith.
