About

Mark and I began visiting St. Mark's in 2015 after searching across several denominations for a spiritual home. The beautiful music, thoughtful and challenging preaching, and the friendliness and openness of the parishioners convinced us we had found it. We transferred our membership in 2016 and have become increasingly engaged since then.

Since joining, I have completed the four-year Education for Ministry course, serving three years as co-mentor. I joined the Altar Guild in 2018 and now serve as Co-Chair. Most recently, I co-chaired the Come and See Rededication Weekend. In the community, I completed the Masters Leadership Program, which prepares individuals for nonprofit board service. I served six years on the Children's Museum Board during the construction of The DoSeum and spent eight years as a docent at the McNay Art Museum. Professionally, I hold a degree in Medical Laboratory Science and worked for 20 years in marketing, sales, and market research for a global medical diagnostics company.

I am drawn to St. Mark's by the opportunities to learn, be challenged spiritually, serve, worship meaningfully, and hear inspired preaching. Our Core Vocation particularly attracts me—not as a motto on a wall, but as something our parish genuinely lives. Serving on the Vestry allows me to express gratitude to God and the parish for the spiritual growth and blessings I have received here. As we emerge from pandemic restrictions and the Parish House restoration, I believe the Vestry should examine how we embody our Core Vocation given that habits and needs have changed, considering what we should do additionally or differently now.
