Beloved Community Book Club

The next BC² meeting is set for Wednesday, September 9, at 4 p.m., and anyone is welcome to join the book discussion. The Painted Drum by Louise Erdrich is the story of Faye Travers, a New Hampshire estate agent who, while appraising the estate of a New Hampshire family descended from a North Dakota Indian agent, discovers a rare drum fashioned long ago by an Ojibwe artisan. And so begins an illuminating journey both backward and forward in time, following the strange passage of a powerful yet delicate instrument, and revealing the extraordinary lives it has touched and defined.

The group meets every other month in the Dean Richardson Room (second floor of the parish house) from 4 to 5:15 p.m. BC² is designed to further the study of racial issues in the Sacred Ground curriculum through reading fictional works that cover the same topics. Questions? Contact Holly Zook at…
