Beloved Community Book Club

Everyone is welcome to join the next BC² book discussion on Wednesday, November 11, at 4 p.m. The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride follows the residents of Chicken Hill, PA, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side. The book makes clear how much the people who live on the margins of white, Christian America struggle and what they must do to survive.

The group meets every other month in the Dean Richardson Room (second floor of the parish house) from 4 to 5:15 p.m. BC² is designed to further the study of racial issues in the Sacred Ground curriculum through reading fictional works that cover the same topics.
