Music from St. Mark's presents: Organ Concert

A fierce perfectionist, Maurice Duruflé (1902-1986) published only a handful of works during his long career, each one a masterpiece. Raymond Nagem will perform all of Duruflé's organ music in a single recital, ranging from the delicate transparency of the Scherzo, to the impassioned grief of the Prelude and Fugue on Alain, to the dazzling virtuosity of the Toccata. Raymond Nagem is an artist whose “dazzling but controlled” playing (New York Classical Review) highlights the full expressive range of the pipe organ. He is Minister of Music at The Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City, and a member of the organ faculty at Manhattan School of Music. A reception follows and all are welcome. Music from St. Mark’s is offered free of charge to the community through the generous support of the St. Cecilia Guild.
